Overview / Responsibilities

Wood has an opportunity for a Procurement Coordinator/ Lead.

  • Responsible for the supervision and guidance of a deployed project procurement team responsible for all aspects of procurement management including purchasing, negotiation, expediting, inspection, logistics, materials management and reporting.
  • Key aspects of the role include the supervision, direction, support and hands on approach in the successful delivery of the procurement activities and assigned procurement personnel working within the project.
  • Provide guidance, direction and support to all relevant stakeholders on both Company's and the supplier's specific contractual obligations and responsibilities.
  • Ensure all procurement activities are carried out in accordance with the project execution plan/schedule and/or procurement strategy, within approved budgets and in line with project processes and procedures.
  • Prepare and assist with development of processes and procedures, and communicate to relevant procurement personnel.
  • Hands-on handle procurement activities for key procurement enquiry/ purchase orders.
  • Establish and manage the project / procurement status report in line with project / client required on site dates and current / estimate lead times, notifying any delays to the project manager.
  • Establish and chair regular review meetings with procurement, engineering and/or project management personnel to ensure dates for pre-order deliverables are being maintained.
  • Establishes priorities, assigns workloads and reviews the procurement workload.
  • Develop Project Supplier List supplemented when required by client's approved supplier registers for supplier evaluation, audit, and selection.
  • Lead negotiation of complex contracts.
  • Carry out Supplier performance reviews and ongoing management ensuring preventive and corrective actions are taken where required.
  • Ensure that all statutory and legal requirements and procedures are complied with and all actions are fully auditable.
  • Ensures that procurement team have a clear understanding of their role, procurement processes and procedures and provides guidance, direction and support.
  • Promote safe working practices and demonstrate safety leadership at all times.
  • Act as a role model and champion Wood's vision, values and behaviours.
  • Implement robust performance management and development plans for the team, ensuring any gaps are addressed and development and succession planning is managed effectively.
  • Delivery against internal and external in year savings targets as per business plan.
  • Implementation of global/regional/country initiatives as per business plans.

Skills / Qualifications


  • Bachelor Degree or Equivalent, CIPS qualified, or industry equivalent
  • Record of skills training appropriate for job specific role

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Minimum 10 years’ Supply Chain/ Procurement experience demonstrating results and progression to a similar position
  • Detailed understanding of key procurement concepts and principles
  • Handling of Procurement Framework Agreements
  • Overall knowledge of Logistics and Materials Management
  • ERP systems
  • Client contract requirements
  • Supply Chain Principles and techniques
  • EPC Procurement experience

Experience of:

  • Complex Commercial Evaluations, negotiations and terms and conditions qualification
  • Supplier Relationship Management
