Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Pipeline Engineer to work in Reading, Berkshire UK on an agency basis. The candidate will be responsible for studies, FEED and Detailed Design of onshore pipelines and associated facilities. Projects includes Hydrogen production and transportation of pure or blended hydrogen and carbon capture storage and transportation of CO2

 

Responsibilities extend into providing services

  • Pipeline route selection
  • Mechanical design, i.e., wall thickness, stress analysis (CAESAR II experience) and expansion analysis
  • Development of material take - offs
  • Development of material specifications and data sheets
  • Development of construction and inspection specifications
  • Preparation of Pipeline EPC scopes of work
  • Input to EPC schedules and Cost Estimate

Skills / Qualifications

  • Engineering university degree
  • Chartered engineer status preferred
  • Previous experience working on the mechanical and civil design of onshore pipeline projects and the project execution strategies associated with pipeline procurement and construction
  • Proven track record in FEED and detailed design experience
  • Able to develop pipeline installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance analysis and procedures
  • Experienced in the use of pipeline software (AutoCAD, Microstation, CAESAR II) is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint is required
  • Experience in the development of material requisitions and construction scopes of work
  • Experience working with Middle East clients is an advantage
