Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently sourcing for Senior Maintenance Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical/Instrument) to work on our PMC project in Abu Dhabi for 12-18 months assignment.



  • Execute assigned scopes of work 
  • Generate technical & commercial proposals for new work scopes 
  • Manage teams for task execution 
  • Deliver against project objectives 
  • Act as head of discipline within OMS 

 Key Accountabilities

  • Execute assigned personal objectives
  • Assign specific tasks to subordinates and manage execution of said tasks in line with established project plan 
  • Undertake review of peer and junior personnel work in accordance with OMS Review and checking procedure 
  • Accountable for quality and timely delivery of discipline project deliverables
  • Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific OMS and client procedures in execution of work activities.
  • Provide feedback for continuous improvement of aforementioned procedures, if applicable
  • Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives, and industry technology developments

  • Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives, and industry technology developments 
  • Provide discipline technical expertise to the wider Wood business with authority to act as head of discipline within OMS 
  • Generate technical and commercial work proposals for new business 
  • Implement identified improvements to service execution 
  • Provide coaching and mentoring of OMS discipline personnel

  • Effective delivery of discipline work scopes in accordance with applicable OMS or client Process and Procedures 
  • Attain and sustain Lead Maintenance Engineer competency
  • Agree and action personal ‘My Success Plan’ with OMS UK Maintenance Consultancy Manager
  • Define and action personal development plan towards next career position


  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate across the business, project, contract, and discipline interfaces
  • Networking and knowledge sharing
  • Generate and sustain required technical resource capability within discipline


  • Maintain awareness of external stakeholders including: industry bodies, academia, vendors, client interface (as appropriate and requested)
  • Project execution responsibility as delegated by OMS UK Maintenance Consultancy Manager

Technical authority within OMS for discipline, including competence assurance for all discipline personnel 


Skills / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • BSc, B.Eng, HNC, HND or equivalent with industrial experience in applicable maintenance discipline Or 
  • NVQ or equivalent trade based qualification with hands on industrial experience in applicable maintenance discipline 

Minimum Experience: 

  • Demonstrable balance of industrial experience at relevant level and position

  • Intellectually capable, can apply maintenance theory in a practical context 
  • Diligent and dependable in consistent application of established process 
  • Professional demeanor with appropriate interpersonal skills 
  • Good team working skills
