Overview / Responsibilities

Wood has a collaborative maintenance contract with Ampol to deliver leading maintenance services to their Lytton site.

We are seeking applications from experienced HVAC Refrigeration Technicians.The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the HVAC systems in plant and associated buildings are maintained in line with equipment strategies and manufacturers’ recommendations.


At this time, we will only consider applications from Australian citizens or those with the required permit/VISA for this region, in place.



  • Steward and implement safe work practices on site, ensuring the safety culture and behaviours are consistent with Wood and Ampol expectations
  • Be fully engaged and knowledgeable in the collaborative tools that Wood uses to achieve an accident free workplace (JSA, SWMS, PTW)
  • Ensure compliance with SWP for working at heights and scaffolding guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with Wood and Ampol work management processes
  • Monitor and update maintenance procedures for HVAC equipment onsite
  • Monitor HVAC inventory to ensure reliability of HVAC systems
  • Responsible for complete HVAC systems inside and out. 


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in HVAC (domestic and predominantly industrial)
  • Recommending and overseeing plant site work execution and preparation to ensure flawless implementation/maintenance
  • Inventory management for all HVAC systems
  • Local housekeeping, including waste management
  • Fully competent knowledge of HVAC principles, along with multi-manufacturer and types of HVAC systems
  • Experience managing onsite sub-contractors where required to execute work.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Cert III Refrigeration / Air Conditioning and Electrotechnology or equivalent trade qualification
  • Full Refrigerant Handling Licence
  • Restricted Qld Electrical Licence

  • Existing EWP, Working at Heights and Confined Space accreditation preferred
  • SAP experience considered favourably
  • Valid Drivers’ Licence.
