Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Coordinator with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or similar sector of the industry to provide support to our Client in the execution of projects.

Job Objectives:

  • Acts directly under Chief Project Engineer to ensure integration of Smart 3D modelling across all disciplines and for all projects driving home consistency.
  • Knowledgeable in SmartPlant P&ID, Smart 3DSmart and Foundation.
  • Keep informed of development in the field of Smart P&ID and Smart 3D Modelling as applicable to multi disciplinary inputs into the model.
  • Smart P&ID, Smart 3D and Foundation troubleshooting.
  • Development and checking of 3D models. Control quality of multi disciplinary 2D Drawings from 3D models.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Role covers system set-up, administration and problem resolution, and the use of application technologies to deliver improvements and efficiencies to engineering design activities.
  • Configuration of 3D modelling tools.
  • Assisting with development and customisation of system deliverables such as drawings / reports, based on project requirements.
  • Liaison with internal and external business customers to analyse and deliver system requirements.
  • Assisting in problem diagnosis and resolution.
  • Ensuring application developments or changes are fully tested.
  • Development of systems procedures.
  • Monitoring of system performance to ensure the smooth operation of deployed systems.
  • Development of workflows to improve efficiency and design quality
  • Participates in Model Reviews as and when required.
  • Report changes to the Lead Designer / Lead Engineer.
  • Coordinates design work in conformance with applicable codes, standards and client specification.
  • Ability to liaise design interface issues with other disciplines typically piping, electrical, C&I and civils.
  • Ability to check engineering design deliverables in a multi-discipline task force based engineering design environment
  • Participate in departmental planning for modeling / drafting effort. Interact with Lead Engineers / Engineers for modeling / drafting inputs
  • Participate in project planning for modelling.
  • Checks works of other designers for accuracy, completeness and / or conformance flow or circuit diagrams, related data and coordination with other discipline’s work
  • Participate in preliminary layout and material take off (MTO) effort for estimation / bid purposes to provide field engineering support.
  • Review of Vendor drawings to ensure consistency with the model.
  • Ability to produce deliverables on schedule, of the correct quality and technical content. Ability to liaise with the client on technical issues and resolve conflicts.

Skills / Qualifications



  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • +12 Years minimum experience.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Highly motivated and self-directed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Leadership and Teamwork qualities are required


  • Experience in FEED or EPC engineering design in Project execution (Desirable)
