Senior Materials Program Specialist

Wood is currently seeking a Senior Materials Program Specialist in order to grow its Perth Mining & Minerals group.

In this highly visible and proactive role, the objective for this position is to co-ordinate materials and equipment data management from engineering through the supply chain cycle to receipt at Site. The role will also offer support the materials management and construction departments on site for the issuing and management of material. The function is also responsible for tracking materials at off-site consolidation points and managing surplus materials at the end of the Project.

Key accountabilities and responilities in this role include, but will not be limited to:

• Work with project and package managers as well as the engineering department to review engineering equipment lists and materials take offs / requisitions/ order requirements to ensure all project requirements contained within the equipment masters and bulk materials lists are entered into Convero or nominated materials database for supply
• Responsible for the development, implementation, and product lifecycle management of all project materials
• Work closely with functional groups to manage engineering change notifications
• Expedite internal and external stakeholders and vendors during normal project peak periods
• Collaborate with functional stakeholders to define data standards and govern processes for changes and ensure that any required changes input the materials database in a timely manner
• Manage internal materials ordering tool and drive enhancements
• Assist in identification of gaps throughout the supply chain process and proactively correct, including transportation, procurement, commodity management, purchasing, inventory, and forecasting supply and demand

What will set you apart from other applicants will be a minimum of seven (7) years experience in a similar role in materials management at a large engineering company. Your knowledge will primarily be in the Mining & Minerals sector, and you will have a proactive, adaptable, and meticilous nature to your work. You will also have:

• Tertiary qualification or accreditation in materials management
• Sound knowledge of interface with Engineering and Construction related to Equipment lists (MEL/EEL/INS), Material Take Off, Requisitions and Required On Site Date
• Experience in SCM process flows from Equipment lists or requisition thru to issue within a Project Execution Site environment
• Good interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to work under pressure to fixed timelines and on own initiative
• Experience in use of materials handling equipment including rigging to ensure safe handling and safe guard the integrity of the materials and equipment on project sites
• Management of both Project and Site office Material Control teams
• Experience in managing total process for Over Short and Damaged (OS&D) / resolution
• Have a flexible and high integrity approach to work
• Be an excellent team player and have the knowledge, skills and ability to work effectively with others
