Data Engineer

Wood is currently recruiting for a Data Engineer, who is a data expert with the ability to identify, collate and organize data for our Engineers, Analysts and clients. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and provide support across the OMS teams and projects, working across multiple digital twin and asset data management projects as assigned. They will assist clients in using their data to create value, drive business decisions and efficiency in asset operations and maintenance management. At a senior level, they will analyze data, identify trends, input data and make recommendations from their findings.

Principal accountabilities include:

• Utilize database programs and run data queries
• Maintaining data integrity and security, execute secure and effective data procedures
• Ensuring the proper sorting and organizing of databases
• Maintain the integrity of data that contains Personally Identifiable Information
• Use their data co-ordination skills to support the OMS teams in the development of current and new applications
• Build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders through working collaboratively in global, agile, multi-disciplined team
• Support the design, development and deployment of data mining algorithms to solve data management challenges, including data scraping and cleansing
• Support our system engineers in assembling large, complex datasets
• Participate in integrity, maintenance and reliability and digital twin systems configuration and implementation projects
• Always ensure adherence to legal standards and regulations

• Degree in relevant field (or commensurate experience)
• Knowledge of E&P information management requirements – personnel, tools and processes
• Experience in handling complex engineering data sets
• Ability to understand and interpret engineering data – tags, line numbers, cables, etc
• Skilled in performing quantitative analysis, and technological data mining using analysis techniques – Has the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Good understanding of data standardisation, including building asset registers and class libraries
• Building Macros / SQL queries to automate existing processes (creating clean data)
• Experience in data migration projects and document mapping
• Demonstrable job co-ordination and administration skills
• Ability to locate and define new process improvement opportunities
• Demonstrated ability to understand data problems and help identify practical and technically sound solutions
• Demonstrated ability to enter data accurately and quickly
