Senior / Principal Process Engineer - Consulting

The position will be part of the Upstream ‘Studies’ team within the Specialist Engineering and Consulting group, based in either Reading or Staines and reporting to the Senior Manager, Studies.

The Role:

• To provide Process Engineering technical input within Specialist Engineering & Consulting (SEC) and the wider Wood organisation relating to the execution of proposals, studies and projects, in agreement with their Business Line Manager and in accordance with applicable procedures.
• To develop a clear understanding of the opportunities arising from the energy transition and help our Clients manange energy transition within their existing asset portfolio and on new projects.
• To develop tools and methods to improve the efficiency and quality of work performed by the group.
• To represent SEC and Wood in technical presentations to external and internal customers.
• To attend and assist in developing training modules to enhance the technical skills of personnel within SEC
  and the wider Wood organisation

A Senior / Principal Process Engineer will demonstrate the following competencies:

• Commercial Understanding: Has an in depth understanding of Wood's business position and commercial objectives. Is always able to implement and recommend improvements to those commercial objectives. Fully understands and can manage technical and commercial risk.
• Technical Design: Guides and coaches others to achieve a high standard in technical design using Wood, client and industry standards and data in line with Project requirements.

Will anticipate situations / problems before they occur and seek to manage all situations / problems in a controlled and analytical manner to the satisfaction of all main parties. Qualifications:

• Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering Discipline or Science
• Chartered Engineer or Scientist.
• Member of an appropriate professional institution.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

• Early phases of project development (feasibility studies, concept design, pre-FEED, master-planning, etc.)
• CO2 handling projects (pipelines, marine transport, buffer storage, dehydration, compression, injection etc.)
• Offshore experience (e.g. electrification, offshore green hydrogen developments…
• Proficient in the use of standard Process Engineering tools and methods.
• Competent in the use of steady state, dynamic and / or LP modelling software and able to direct / supervise development of models by team members.
