Overview / Responsibilities

Wood requires the services of a Technical Plant & Equipment Clerk/Administrator based in their offices in Haughton Road, Darlington. 

  • Reporting to Operations Manager and working closely with Plant Managers/Project Managers/Site Engineers and QS/Supply Chain using a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, etc. your responsibilities and duties will be to support the functions of the various T&D projects.
  • Process weekly day work sheets in line with individual site reporting requirements.
  • Processing material/plant/hire requisitions as issued by the projects in Oracle
  • Maintain and track the status of all plant and hire equipment and inform projects
  • Liaise with project sites and Supply Chain to maintain hire validities.
  • Off hire equipment as required by projects
  • Maintain effective communications with vendors and hire companies
  • Assist in the processing of invoices for agreed accounts in accordance with T&D policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the maintenance of adequate contemporary records, including scanning and electronic filing of data.
  • Provide proactive administration and coordination support and assistance to all areas of the T&D Darlington Operations as and when required and requested by management and projects.
  • To read, understand and implement the Company’s Health Safety Environmental/Ethics and Quality Policies and the arrangements described in the Company Management System documents,
  • Ensuring Company operates in a legal and responsible manner
  • Have awareness of the Health and Safety at Work Regulations which relate to office practices
  • Monitor incoming calls and emails for Plant and equipment requirements and take appropriate action
  • General Administration duties:
    • Scanning
    • Laminating
    • Photocopying
    • Perform other related duties as required

Skills / Qualifications

Essential:

  • Previous experience of working in an office environment
  • Demonstrable experience in similar role.
  • Good understanding of office administration processes and practices.
  • Computer literate in standard software packages (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
  • IT Literate (Excel / Word / PowerPoint etc.)
  • Educated to Standard Grade/GCSE level
  • Previous experience in an office environment is essential
