Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Site QC Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry to work on a temporary contract at site on our refinery project in Sweden.  The project consists of revamping the existing unit including other necessary modifications to produce diesel out of a mixture of renewables.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform project specific quality management and assurance activities as detailed in the Project Quality Plan and as directed and instructed by the Project Quality Manager / Lead
  • Take ownership of and complete successfully Quality Development Plans in a timely manner
  • Promotes a positive Quality Culture through the working environment
  • Pro-actively supports the Quality Manager/Lead to achieve project quality deliverables
  • Responsible for implementation of Quality Management System requirements as directed by the Manager, Project Quality Assurance and ensuring the requirements of the project are implemented across Home Office Engineering activities in FEED, EPC and PMC projects
  • Provide advice and guidance to Project Management personnel on the application of the Quality Management System in relation to Project Execution activities
  • Supervise assigned Quality personnel and guide them in their work on Projects
  • Prepare Quality Assurance requirements, to define EPC Contractors roles and responsibilities, for insertion into pre-qualification and ITB packages
  • Review pre-qualification packages and EPC contractor’s bids for adherence to project requirements and prepare reports of such reviews
  • By review, ensure consistency of both format and content of the ITB and project specifications

Skills / Qualifications

  • Extensive background as a Quality Control Engineer in an Oil and Gas or Petrochemical Construction environment
  • Degree / HND qualified in a related subject
  • Demonstrable qualification for planning, conducting and reporting internal audits form a recognised external body
  • Significant previous QA experience in the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Process Plants industry, together with detailed knowledge of ISO 9001: 2008 requirements and its application in an Engineering, Design, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning environment
  • Previous experience in a similar role on a refinery project
  • Previous EPCm experience
  • Brownfield and shutdown experience preferred
