Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking Expressions of Interest for a Lead Mechanical Engineer(Rotating) with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas offshore industry.

 

  • Monitor the overall execution of MEC work scope in accordance with applicable Project Procedures and Standards, including Wood and/or Client Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control.
  • Ensure High Quality of work is being carried out by all team members within the established/assigned man-hour budgets and schedule targets.
  • Disseminate the relevant project information among the assigned team members and ensure that adequate information is available at any stage of work.
  • Execution of assigned work in accordance with applicable contract procedures, codes and standards.
  • Ensure that Contract requirements are implemented through the established Job Specifications and Standards.
  • Prepare the MEC Discipline Design Instruction for the Project.
  • Review Client Standards and Practices at the beginning of the Project and compile all Client specific requirements, which are critical and/or non-standard. Forward such compiled list to the PM/PEM for resolution and then circulate to the assigned MEC team.
  • Perform activities such as – issue of Material Requisitions and Technical Bid Evaluations as per relevant Technical Practices.
  • Review and approve all Critical Material Requisitions prepared by the Team members.
  • Monitor all Technical Bid Evaluations prepared by the team members.
  • Ensure Vendor Drawings and Documentation are being reviewed by all team members as per relevant Technical Practices.
  • Ensure the Ethics of Confidentiality on technologies licensed by Client or Third Party is being followed by all team members.
  • Ensure Project Filing is maintained as per Quality Procedures.
  • Liaise with other Groups as necessary.
  • Ensure Timely Production of Deliverables.
  • Ensure AMUSE Database is populated for all Material Requisitions.
  • Carry out Proper Closeout of all project related work.
  • Attend internal Wood and Vendor co-ordination meetings and engineering review meetings in order to establish full understanding of scope of supply/work.
  • Keep PEM informed about matters related to the following:
    • Any major issue (design, schedule or manpower) the causes and proposed corrective action.
    • Any unresolved difference with other Groups.
    • Any request for changes by the Client which may constitute a contract change.
  • Attend all Project Meetings as required.
  • Attend Quality Audits as required.
  • Update Progress Report for the MEC Discipline of all activities performed within the reporting timeline.
  • Prepare Lessons Learnt in the Project.
  • Ensure transparency and fairness in the Project taskforce. Motivate Team members to deliver their best.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Lead Mechanical Engineer (Rotating) shall have experience more than 15 years and minimum 5 years as Lead Mechanical Engineer (Rotating) with Oil & Gas offshore experience, with high H2S related experience (more than 2 projects, >3000 ppm ), with high CO2 related experience (>12%) .
  • The Lead Engineer shall be a registered Professional Engineer with Board of Engineers Malaysia or Chartered Engineer with certified international professional bodies.
