Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a HSSEA Advisor with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry for a permanent staff role based in Ware.

 

The Role

  • Supports the HSSEA Delivery Manager with the delivery of the functional HSSEA plan
  • Day-to-day management and continuous improvement HSSEA systems (e.g. HSSEA management system, HSSEA performance reporting etc).
  • Participation in functional HSSEA assurance activities
  • Support of regional HSSEA projects (e.g. Emergency response, HSSEA intranet, CAIRS etc)
  • Monitors Site HSSEA activity and performance
  • Acts as point of contact for site HSSEA matters
  • Provision of competent advice to site management team, contractors and client
  • Support & Coaching of WOOD HSSEA initiatives and Client initiatives where applicable

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the objectives of the functional HSSEA plan, and assist with projects and their objectives.
  • Point of contact and provision of advice on all HSSEA matters
  • Monitor and evaluate site based HSSEA activities (e.g. improvement plans, incident trends, best practice development etc)
  • Deliver functional assurance activities (e.g. audits)
  • Communicate the important messages from high profile incidents and accidents as a part of the safety alert/lessons-learned process to all relevant parties
  • Ensure compliance against agreed procedures within the interface matrix
  • Liaise with and build relationships with Framework HSSEA teams and client teams
  • Manage attendance and participation at project HSE meetings, workshops and forums
  • Promote workforce involvement in all HSE activities, initiatives and programmes

Skills / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in relevant technical, industry or HSSEA specific discipline (desirable)
  • Internationally recognised Diploma. (desirable)
  • NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate. (essential)
  • Trained Internal Auditor (desirable)
  • RCA – Accident/incident Investigator, e.g. Taproot/Helix (essential)

 

Minimum Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in a HSSEA role in Pharmaceutical, O&G, Petrochemical or other process-related industry.
  • Familiar with Construction, Engineering and CDM:2015 (essential)

 

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Familiar with HSSEA management in a process industry-related contractor organisation
  • Broad HSSEA experience in contractor and/or process-related industry
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Effective/competent MS Office Suite User
  • Good communication skills in both written and spoken format
