Senior Draughtsperson

Wood is currently sourcing Expression of Interest candidates for Senior Draughtsperson opportunities based in Hull.

To provide drawing / document updates (mainly using AutoCAD and raster editing packages but occasionally using other CAD software), creating mark - ups, checking and approving from redlined as - built drawings using the relevant standards, processes and procedures. In addition to maintaining a high level of organisation and attention to detail to enable the Drawing Office to continue to deliver a quality service.

• Update drawings / documentation to as - built documentation
• Provide QA checking / approval of drawings / documentation produced by Junior Draughtsperson, Draughtsperson and Senior Draughtsperson
• Locate associated drawings and review the impact the modifications may have, providing red - lined drawings for Junior Draughtsperson and Draughtsperson to work from
• Provide technical guidance to Junior Draughtsperson and Draughtsperson
• Lead site surveys
• Report to Section Leader
• Manage own workload to ensure timely delivery to customers
• Review customer modification work packs received to ensure technical and construction information is correct
• Attend customer meetings
• Assist in the provision of Cost, Time & Resource (CTR) estimates
• Lead / Assist, as required in managing discrete scopes of work
• Adhere to company policies & procedures
• Be part of the company Safety and Quality Culture
• Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained / exceeded
• Continually review technology and current processes to offer innovative solutions enchaning delivery of service to customers

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade C GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
• HNC qualification (or equivalent) or suitable experience
• AutoCAD qualification or suitable experience
• Grade C or above GCSE in Science / Technology (Desirable)
• Have professional registration with a recognized Institution (IEng preferable) but not essential

Training

• A good standard of written English
• Manual handling training (desirable)
• Have experience of working with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS)

Experience

• Experience within a Drawing Office environment
• Experience of using a variety of software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• A good level of general computer skills (good electronic housekeeping)
• Experience of working with clients on telephone or via email in a professional manner
• Experience within the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical or Power Generation sectors (Desirable)
• Demonstrate a good understanding of industry best practices and work to established standards and current legislation
