Overview / Responsibilities



Wood is currently recruiting for a Planner to support a new Project at North East area.


You will prepare, review and reporting of accurate project schedules and plans in support of the robust control of projects throughout their lifecycle.

Preparation and submission of project schedules and plans, ensuring schedules and plans are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards.



  • Preparation of Tender schedules and submissions in collaboration with the Estimator, Design Engineers and Construction delivery team
  • Liaising with the cost engineer to set-up appropriate activity work breakdown structures to monitor both time and cost performance
  • Planning support for a portfolio of Engineering, Procurement and Construction schemes, including but not limited to weekly progress updates of contract schedules, resource profiles, earned value reports, schedule narrative and production norm reports etc
  • Commercial entitlement promoted and highlighted to delivery teams, including suitable planning support
  • Ensure all planning and project control activities are delivered in accordance with Wood guidelines and Planning Best Practices
  • Depending on workload, planning support may be required in other areas of the business.

Skills / Qualifications

You should have:

  • Minimum 3 years relevant scheduling/planning experience in Construction Projects
  • Good understanding in projects planning lump sum projects, NEC contracting and experience in using Primavera P6
  • Experienced in areas of responsibility associated with planning (project controls, CTR generation, Estimating) would be added advantages
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • This is an office based role with occasional visits to site
  • Extensive experience of engineering planning is essential
  • You will ideally have experience within engineering and oil and gas industry
