- Cable Scheduling and Routing Design (above and below ground)
- Lighting Design (including lighting design software application)
- Earthing Systems
- Hazardous Area Classification
- Electrical Bulk Material Take-off and Requisitioning
- Competent practitioner in the application of Industry standard CAD systems (AutoCAD) for the production of 2-D electrical drawings & Microstation.
- Basic awareness of international design standards e.g. IEC/CENELEC /ATEX (European) and ANSI/NEC (American).
- Experienced in electrical design applications in a 3-D model environment via industry standard 3-D CAD modelling systems (SP3D)

Wood is currently looking for a Senior Planning Engineer to strengthen our team in Dubai. This is a Home Office position based in Dubai and will involve occasional visits to the Client offices and/or site in Iraq.
- Reporting to the Project Controls Lead / Project Lead the candidate will assume sole responsibility for Project Planning and Scheduling / Project Controls of Engineering and Construction Projects
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of and reporting against detailed project plans
- To ensure that the overall project is delivered to meet client’s schedule requirements / priorities
- To ensure that all work is performed without compromise to quality and in line with the company’s procedures
- To maintain high standard of safety at all times
- Develop a suitable Work Breakdown Structure covering the project requirements / scope of works
- Develop, baseline, update, and maintain detailed project schedules for various phases of project execution including but not limited to design development (main responsibility), construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up
- Coordinate with client representatives, team members, contractors, subcontractors while developing project schedules to take into account all project requirements
- Organise workshops to present and review project schedules with all the concerned stakeholders to take their buy-in before baselining the schedules
- Develop and agree with the client progress measurement and reporting requirements
- Review schedules prepared by the Contractors / Subcontractors (wherever required) to confirm alignment with the overall master plan
- Periodically update the schedule with progress attained during the period
- Coordinate with team member / contractors / subcontractors to prepare schedule forecasts
- Identify / highlight any emerging issues pertaining to schedule slippages and work with Project Manager / team to develop recovery plans
- Analyse impact of proposed changes to project scope / requirements and re-baseline the schedules to incorporate approved changes
- Prepare weekly, fortnightly and monthly progress reports / progress curves and distribute them to the concerned stakeholders
- Attend progress review meetings with Project Manager / client / contractors
- Verify physical progress as claimed by contractor / subcontractors
- Coordinate with the Procurement / Supply Chain Manager regarding procurement status of Long Lead Equipment / Bulks and update the schedules accordingly
- Provide forecasts for project completion with anticipated man-hours to facilitate the cost forecasting process
