Wood is currently looking for Consultant / Principal Vibration Engineer (Piping/Static Equipment) to be based in Abu Dhabi on a permanent staff position.   Consultant / Principal Engineer role within the Wood VDN (Vibration, Dynamics and Noise) Specialist Engineering Group based in the Abu Dhabi office. The primary role is to provide piping and static equipment vibration consultancy services to oil and gas operators in the Middle East. The primary responsibilities of the role are as follows:   Office based elements: - Act as focal point and team lead for day-to-day field and static equipment related activities for the Abu Dhabi VDN team. - Leading Energy Institute Guideline Qualitative and Quantitative vibration screening assessments of process plant. - Leading Acoustic Induced Vibration (AIV) stage 1, 2 and 3 assessments. Including detailed simulation using Finite Element Analysis. - Leading Flow Induced Vibration (FIV) studies. Including detailed simulation using Finite Element Analysis. - Completing reportage required for projects without close supervision and with minimum oversight from senior colleagues. - Managing all technical and commercial aspects of projects from initial proposal, through technical delivery, presentation to client and final invoicing. - Assisting BD activities within the VDN and parent ALO (Asset Life Optimisation) teams. - Assist the rotating equipment team and develop competence in rotating machinery. - Supporting the ALO manager to allow cover to be provided on short term basis as required (to the limits of individual competency). Follows Change Management process to identify and approve modifications to scope, cost, schedule and quality - Pursues and develop opportunities for innovation, such as digitalization and technology use, work share and high value engineering centers, to bring value to Wood and customer - Approves Contract procedures and Contract execution plan including the scope of work, deliverables list, master schedule, budget, org charts, risk register etc. - Ensures competence of contract and project team members to carry out assigned work - Oversees proposals and call-offs (may be single projects) within delegation of authority, ensuring compliance with contracting policy and standards of ethical conduct - Monitors adherence to schedule, cost and quality and proactively intervenes to avoid slippage - Ensures that the required project management software systems are established for the project and the supporting training is completed - Ensure the project assurance protocol and schedule are established - Involved in establishing terms and conditions, and wider scope and larger size of projects may require more visibility in the community as well as activity in attracting project staff

Wood is currently looking for a Senior I&C Engineer to join our team in Dubai, UAE The role is a contractual for a period of 3 - 6 months with a potential extention    Accountability: - This is a Home Office position based in Dubai, but it may involve occasional visits to the Client offices and/or site in Iraq. Normal working time will be 48 hours per week - Reporting to the Lead PACO engineer the candidate will assume sole responsibility for assigned Instrument and Controls engineering work scopes. - To carry out Instrument and Controls discipline work within a project team, supporting the project team for field development of oil & gas production facilities. - To plan, budget, organize, and control a segment of the Instrument and Controls engineering deliverables for the project. Primary Role: - To prepare Instrument and Controls deliverables for all project Phases the oil and gas industry. - To ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule. - To provide direction and guidance on all Instrument and Controls engineering technical queries raised by either internal or external parties. - To liaise with the Client’s Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion. - To promote safe behaviour at all times. Principal Responsibilities: - To provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline. - To co-ordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up. - To assist in the coordination of all activities related to Instrument and Controls engineering design. To identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required.
