Wood is currently recruiting for Graduate Instrument Engineers  for work within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical industry.    Job Objectve:  - Assist in preparation of engineering deliverables such as (but not limited to) control philosophies, functional specifications, basis of design, etc under the mentorship of the Lead Engineer. - Assist in preparation of material and contract requisitions including preparation of indirect and direct Bill of Quantities under the mentorship of the Lead Engineer. - Develop sound knowlege on the specification for field instrumentation for process applications including installations requirements. Produce instrument datasheets and specific design requirements under the mentorship and guidance of the Lead Engineer.  - Develop detailed knowlledge on control system and safety systems such as DCS, ESD, PLC, F&G Systems, etc under the mentorship of the Lead and engineer and assist in specification of these systems - Develop deep understanding of  C&I Hazardous area protection requirements including functional safety engineering requirements and application to C&I design.  - Preparation of requisition index for instrument work, indicating planned issue date for each requisition. - Develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of national and international standards including client specific standards for application to engineering - Gain an in depth understanding and give input into P&ID’s and PFDs to ensure all C&I requirements are met. - Develop design engineering drawings and assist the designers with engineering technical detail on drawings under the mentorship of the Lead Engineer and Principal Designer. - Give input into instrumentation drawings and ensure that the quality of design and drawings produced for enquiry and fabrication purposes is of satisfactory standard. - Prepare technical bid analysis for instrumentation for review by the Lead Engineer - Attendance of P&ID, Hazop and SIL Reviews under the supervision of the Lead Engineer - Attend coordination meetings and engineering review meetings with supplier as required by the Lead Engineer. Resolve any Instrumentation problems arising during commissioning. - Perform C&I infrastructure site assessments and site support under the supervision of the Lead Instrument Engineer. - Keep abreast of development in the instrumentation engineering field and aim for professional candidate engineer registration. - Perform such duties as may be assigned by the Lead Instrument and Chief Instrument Engineer.

Wood is recuiting for Principal Electrical Engineers to work on a Contract (Agency) basis in a client role.   These roles will be based in Wood’s Reading office.   Work scope: - Review design packages for electrical systems and equipment (i.e., Power & Distribution Transformers, motors, generators, high voltage/low voltage switchgear / Motor Control Center (MCC), distribution network, control equipment, power outlets etc.) including drawings, datasheets, detail scope of work, calculations, Bill of Material / Quantity and preliminary cost estimates, Hazardous Area Classification and power System Study - Prepare the Project Design Basis Document as per the project scope - Prepare the entire project load lists based on the project scope - Produce technical reports for the scope of work, and technical specifications for specific electrical equipment - Manage the electrical activities of engineering, procurement, and eventual construction (EPC) contractors during the Front-End Engineering Development (FEED) and design phase - Coordinate with Project managers to finalize the Electrical Engineering scope for the entire project / package - Carry out analysis of major equipment selected in the design package - Review and respond to technical and site queries - Experience in project execution in accordance with client’s and worldwide industrial standards - Monitor and review in coordination with client’s PMT the performance and work quality of the contractor - Ensure that the design work by contractor is in accordance with client’s design standards, applicable codes/regulations, and acceptable work practices - Assist the Project Managers and Project Engineers in evaluating Material Requisitions (MR), Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) and Award Recommendation (AR) provided by Contractor and able to perform Procurement support - Review and evaluate Change Orders to ensure full compliance with standards and that costs are in line with project budget - Work closely with Engineering Teams during the project to ensure facility integrity in terms of HSE - Provide technical assurance for electrical discipline deliverables for projects - Lead and recommend new improvement solutions for installations or modifications to improve existing facilities and standards - Good knowledge on Power system automation
