Wood Applied Intelligence (AI) is seeking a SCADA Engineer to join our busy Automation and Control business to support one of our UK projects replacing the current 50 year old EfW (Energy from Waste) facility with a new more efficient and advanced Recovery Facility (ERF). This position will be based at our client’s site in North London.
The Engineer will work hand in hand with the Wood Commissioning Technical Team to ensure that all matters relating to the scope of work and associated specifications are executed in accordance with the Purchase Order and schedule.
Responsibilities / Duties:
- Manages all aspects of commissioning a SCADA system and associated hardware under their control and associated System Health Checks
- Review ITPs and ensure they are fit for purpose
- Review FAT procedures, agree personnel for FAT attendance and dates including attendance
- Respond timeously on progress and to all requests

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Technical Safety Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. The role will be part of our Aberdeen Engineer Hub. This is a multi-client and multi-discipline engineering and design team. This vacancy is primarily to support an upcoming FEED study on a Flare Gas Recovery project for a major oil & gas operator in the North Sea. The role is an excellent opportunity to be involved in decarbonisation projects. The FEED study is expected to start in April 2023 and run for 6 months before moving into detail design. The project will be run out of our Aberdeen office however remote/hybrid working will be considered.
- Manage discipline work to the required schedule and manhour allocation
- Act as the discipline originator or checker for all Technical Safety deliverables (e.g. philosophies, calculations, studies, reports, specifications, datasheets, drawings, etc)
- Ensure compliance with relevant specifications as well as applicable national/ international regulations, codes and standards
- Report on work status / problem areas / needs
- Ensure quality assurance checks are performed on the project in accordance with Project, Company and/or departmental requirements
