Wood is currently recruiting for a Instrument Construction Supervisor with extensive experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry to work on a Fixed term contract at site on our refinery project in Sweden. The project consists of revamping the existing unit including other necessary modifications to produce diesel out of a mixture of renewables.
The ideal candidate will be part of the Site Construction Team and will report directly to the Construction Manager - Instruments leading Project construction completion and will be responsible to manage and maintain mutually beneficial working relationships with Contractors, Client, and subordinates.

Responsibilities
- Ensure that all C&I construction contractors’ supervision and manpower are instructed in and comply with all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) policy, site regulations, permit to work procedures and instructions and Client requirements
- Ensure that C&I construction contractors working within the discipline adhere strictly to the latest Approved for Construction (AFC) project drawings, Specifications, ITP’s, Procedures and Site Instructions

construction contractors complete their work in accordance with the project schedule

The Role:
We are looking for Principal Offshore Structural Engineers on a staff basis. In this role, you will be responsible to provide and support structural engineering activities to Wood projects currently under way, as well as acting as originator for selected engineering deliverables (specifications, procedures, SACS computer analyses, calculations, 2D drawings, MTOs and structural design reports), whilst following all operational procedures. The role will be based in Staines.
- Coordinates with all disciplines (as necessary) in the preparation and development of the above
- Performs preliminary sizing for structural members to provide preliminary input to Structural 3D and 2D modelling
- Prepares structural computer models using SACS for primary steel geometry and loadings, and undertakes structural analyses for all anticipated operating, installation, transportation, loadout and fabrication conditions
- Ensures structural compliance with structural specifications as well as applicable code requirements and national / international standards.
- Prepares structural engineering input for secondary and tertiary steel design, prepares structural design sketches for input to 3D modelling/ 2D drawing production and prepares computed aided or hand calculations for justification of structural configuration for compliance with specifications and relevant design codes
- Prepares or checks structural design reports to fully document structural primary and secondary steel design to demonstrate compliance with design codes and specifications
- Undertakes structural weight estimation for input into the project weight report
- Reviews relevant client provided and vendor data for structural implications and requirements
