Wood is currently recruiting for an offshore I&E Technician with previous experience of working on a large-scale offshore oil and gas installation.   The position is based in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea.   The normal working rotation 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off.   The successful candidate is required to maintain, test, calibrate, modify, troubleshoot, diagnose repairs, or replaces instrumentation, control equipment and electrical systems and equipment within the confines of an offshore production facility. Wood is currently recruiting for an AB \ Pumpman for a new build offshore FPSO project located in the Eastern Mediterranean.   This is an urgent requirement with a minimum duration of 1 year.  The development of the fields shall be undertaken using a new-build, spread-moored gas FPSO unit to process gas and associated liquids from subsea wells. Dry pipeline spec gas will be produced and piped through a gas export line to an onshore facility while the recoverable liquids will be tandem offloaded into tankers from the FPSO. The final subsea infrastructure will include three development wells. The project will support with operation and maintenance of the deepwater gas development. Responsible to monitor, control and operate the marine and cargo operations efficiently, ensuring all procedures are adhered to and all defects are reported to the Offshore Maintenance lead. Ensure to display a pro-active and continuous approach to safety.   KEY ACCOUNTABILTIES:   General Marine Duties: - Reporting to Marine Team Lead. - Working as part of small integrated deck operations team requiring multi-disciplinary role flexibility and providing support to other trades / disciplines where required - Load Crude oil as per loading plan, manage offtake tankers approach, connection, offload, and disconnection safely, maintain the installations stability at all times within acceptable limits, manage COST and Ballast tank cleaning, gas freeing entry and remedial activities, act as marine responsible person, monitoring and adjusting ballast as required - Assist, guide and give clear instructions to deck crew team with Tanker Mooring and Export Hose handling equipment - Carry out deck, marine and rigging activities as directed - Perform helideck duties as designated - Fulfil Emergency Response role as required (i.e. Fire Team Member / Lifeboat Coxswain) - Carry out weekly lifeboat, liferaft and helideck monitor checks. - In accordance with instruction from superiors, carry out maintenance work - Responsible for good housekeeping conditions in all areas - Washing down modules and deck areas as well as other module cleaning duties - As part of the marine team accountable for all aspects of deck management ensuring walkways, escape routes and lay-down areas are kept clear of obstruction and have awareness of deck loading limits - Ensure waste management is carried out as per procedures, maximize recycling, maintaining correct segregation of waste materials and chemical storage areas as per waste management regulations. - Ensure all backload containers are appropriately loaded and within their certified capacities and comply with the recognised standards, manufacturer’s instructions, and statutory regulations. All lifting equipment to be used such as bridle slings and shackles should be certified, and colour coded.     Specialist Role Duties: - Liaising with onshore and offshore support teams. - Support the commissioning activities and immediately highlight any gaps or shortfalls so that they can be addressed where possible or where not that the risks are suitably well understood. - Identification and ratification of spare parts required and planning suitable storage locations on board. - Liaising with TFMC contractors to ensure that forward maintenance activities are understood, and that the CMMS is appropriately detailed with focus on known weaknesses as identified by vendors. - Working with project teams as part of the system walk downs, punch listing and handover. - On site walk throughs and dry runs of the system operating manuals to make sure that they are fit for purpose and accurate - On site reviews of the equipment maintainability and assessment of equipment handling solutions to make sure that they are fit for purpose. - Development of operational procedures to match the actual equipment and locations on-board to ensure that high risk activities such as offloads can be undertaken and controlled to an acceptable level. - Participation in ensuring that preservation activities are completed to a high standard to make sure that equipment is ready to operate when on location with minimal delay - Coaching and mentoring as delegated. - Control, Monitor, receive, store and discharge crude oil cargo and slops, COW, operation of inert gas systems, maintaining stability of FPSO and monitoring of FPSO safety and control systems complying with all the working and reporting procedures and relevant standards set down. - Ensure the quality of the Cargo, minimising the quantity of free water present in the cargo. - Management of produced water (hydration tanks) - Perform routine and emergency ballasting/de-ballasting. - Update Maintenance Management System, inputting data and printing job cards as requested. - Act as area authority for the cargo area excluding the crane and helideck. - Plan, monitor and execute all tank entry preparations and inspections. - Operate the ballast system including the operation of ballast valves and pumps - The focal point for marine activities when on night-shift, assisting vendors where applicable. - Preparation of Cargo and Ballast tanks for entry and inspection. - Operation of a variety of marine systems throughout the FPSO such as hydraulic cargo systems, bilge and ballast systems, Pot water and sewage systems. - Carrying out first line maintenance on the various marine systems in conjunction with the Marine Technicians. - Ensure the correct and accurate completion of Marine Department Data and reports, including: marine logs, vessel movements, weather reports and hull tank contents, Oil content record books and Garbage record books. Stability record keeping - Monitoring of bilge & void spaces, de-watering as and when required. - Liaise with Marine Team Lead regarding OSV & ERRV movements - Monitoring mooring system, taking appropriate action as and when directed by Marine Team Lead. - Monitor Aero nautical communications - Ensure weather monitoring station is fully operational, including Helicopter weather reports - Focal point for vessel positioning systems, i.e. DGPS, DARPS and Artemis
