Principal Technical HSE Engineer   Wood is currently recruiting for a PSC to provide Technical Safety (Process Safety) Engineering services to our Operations business in Stockton on Tees, UK. The scope of work will last 12 months.   The Operations business delivers services to brownfield and greenfield projects across multiple sectors including Oil & Gas, refining, petrochemicals, bulk and fine chemicals and pharma along with emerging technologies such as Hydrogen and Carbon Capture. Our Technical Safety team also provides specialist support to other parts of the business including consultancy services and provision of independent safety review co-ordinators and facilitators.   Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities: - Lead and deliver Technical Safety project activities and deliverables within quality, budget and schedule constraints - Support to projects on regulatory requirements including COMAH, DSEAR, PSR, PUWER, and CDM - Lead formal process safety assessments such as HAZID, HAZOP, SIL target setting, and other safety workshops - Carry out qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, including Fire and Explosion Risk Assessments (FERA) and implement recommendations including, classified hazardous areas F&G detection, fire protection (active & passive) etc. - Develop safety engineering philosophies, design HSE plans, safety specifications, equipment specifications and monitor project/contractor/vendor compliance to these - Produce and review specifications, data sheets, schedules, study reports, and design calculations; ensuring that they conform to engineering quality, competence, and project management systems - Provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline - Co-ordinate with other disciplines during the FEED - Attend client meetings and communicate issues with other engineers as required - Interact with team members in a positive and professional manner at all times - Adhere to, and comply with, relevant project, client and discipline specific procedures - Participate in audits and incident investigations as required - Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments - Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of process safety and environmental engineering methodologies, software systems, and design practices as they relate to FEED - Provision of guidance and support on appropriate safety and environmental engineering - Awareness of international pipeline codes and standards

During the project, update as risks are identified and monitor as they are either realised or eliminated. - Subcontractor Identification and Engagement – Agree Sow’s with internal functions and manage subcontractor call off process. - Action Management – all key actions are to be registered, assigned and tracked within the action tracking system (SharePoint). - Client communication – from the offset of the work order work closely with the client PE to understand their requirements, meeting frequency and communication links to bring a harmonious working relationship. - HSE ownership – from the time a work order proposal is issued the PE has a responsibility to continually assess any action and the HSE implications that an action or inaction may have. Be proactive to eliminate any HSE exposure. - Quality ownership – To ensure that Wood produce a quality product it is the PE’s responsibility to ensure the correct procedures are followed during the estimating, initiation, progression and close out of all work orders (leading indicators). If a poor quality incident does occur the PE has a responsibility to identify and intervene to rectify where possible, but as a minimum it should be registered on the CAIRS reported. - Work order reporting – On a weekly basis a project dashboard is to be produced in readiness for issue to the client. These will comprise as a minimum; progress status, budget status, procurement status (if required), key issues and risks. Review Project documents weekly including and action appropriately:  - All Exception Reports e.g. Planning, Document Control, Subcontracts, Contracts. - Document Registers. - Inspection & Expediting reports. - Man-hour and timesheet reports. - Schedules. Other Activities  - Lead in weekly discipline engineering project progress meeting. - Initiate / participate in lessons learned at appropriate stages during the project life cycle. - Prepare and participate in weekly delivery meeting. - Coordinate between the site requirements and home office. - Participate within the procurement meeting.

Wood has an opportunity for a Principal Architect to be based in Reading on a contract basis. We work on a variety of projects including carbon capture, hydrogen power, waste to energy, biofuels, recycling, petrochemical, and oil & gas.   - The architect must have good working knowledge of Mircostation and ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Wood policies and procedures - Ensure all work to be carried out with a positive attitude towards safety, both in design and in the office environment - Contribute to the group as a discipline technical Specialist as required - Provide technical and architectural design support to Projects as Lead Architect where required - Execute assigned work in accordance with Project Execution Plans, applicable Project Procedures and Standards within man - hour and cost budgets and Project schedule target - Provide design and technical interface to project work with clients, other Departments, suppliers / vendors and consultants - Coordinate and conduct Technical Audits and Technical reviews on projects as required by Chief Architect - Review, support and agree project technical and design issues with the Lead Discipline Engineer, including dissemination and implementation of discipline ‘best practice’ on projects
