  Wood Resilient Environments (RE) is looking for a Principal Consultant – TCFD and ESG to join the team and support the integration and delivery of climate resilience and reporting into built environment projects to create value through project outputs and performance.     The Wood RE business is an established industry leader in the delivery of projects for our clients that create resilience and address climate risks, and this position will have an integral role in supporting the RE climate resilience and ESG Practice.   Wood RE is a leading E&I consultant that provides climate resilience, ESG and TCFD support to global clients and across RE’s seven market sectors:  Government, Industrial/Commercial, Energy, Mining, Transportation, Oil & Gas and Water. Alignment with TCFD, ESG and other climate risk frameworks is critical part of our business, and this role will assume a leadership position within Wood E&I to advance these frameworks for our clients within our consultancy.      As a Principal Consultant for TCFD and ESG, you will be part of the team that is applying platforms and solutions to integrate climate resilience and ESG into projects that deliver value and create outcomes that improve society/stakeholders, reduce risk, and can better access capital.   This role will report the Vice President for Climate Resilience & ESG and include supporting RE Sector, Marketing, and Operational teams to deliver solutions in the climate resilience, ESG, and climate risk financing areas.   It will require the ability to work across the RE Environment & Infrastructure (E&I) sectors along with communication/application of resiliency implementation features to these teams and their project areas.   This is a home-based position which include the ability to work across all time zones.  Ideally this person will be based in North America with responsibilities globally.   Key Responsibilities - Leading Wood project teams to support clients with ESG and TCFD frameworks from strategy development to project integration and delivery - Provide management consultancy leadership in the delivery of advisory projects related to climate risk, ESG and TCFD - Support clients with entity-wide, asset-level, and supply/value chain climate risk, and resilience assessments - Lead and support clients in the development, implementation and reporting to climate change impacts, climate resilience, ESG performance, TCFD and other related climate reporting frameworks - Developing and maintaining data management systems and business intelligence tools - Communication around ESG/corporate sustainability efforts with senior leadership, Board of Directors, and other key stakeholders, including our clients colleagues - Supporting clients with external ESG/corporate sustainability reports and initiatives - Experience performing materiality assessments, stakeholder mapping, examination of UN SDGs, formulation of ESG strategy, and alignment of long-term corporate and ESG - Experience developing and implementing decarbonization roadmaps for clients - Demonstrated business acumen, including the ability to build relationships within the business function, interpret financial indicators, develop and/or adopt innovative ideas, and apply knowledge of the business to advance the organization’s goals - Familiarity with established sustainability reporting standards or frameworks such as the GHG Protocol, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), TCFD, CDP, and the International Integrated Reporting Council Integrated Reporting Framework, PRI and WEF-IBC. - Performing research, stakeholder engagement, and analysis as part of materiality assessments and ESG risk and opportunity analyses - Working with companies to determine on what basis to set their carbon reduction targets, including Net Zero and Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTI) - Understanding product Life Cycle Analyses (LCA’s) and their relevance to setting ESG strategies for clients - Understanding/application of TNFD requirements is a plus - Ability to lead workshops and training - Ability to develop and implement action plans and tracking - Ability to collaborate across technical and account teams - Business development expertise – preferably in sustainable infrastructure and support of Fortune 500 clients - Support climate resilience and ESG technical and growth initiatives - Expertise in environmental resilience, flood mitigation and green infrastructure - Support research and identifying existing climate resilience and sustainability opportunities for on-going projects across RE sectors

Wood is seeking expression of interest for an experienced Civil Superintendent with extensive experience within the Construction Industry for a project based in Hull.    Duties:  Act as an Ambassador of the company in all aspects of HSES & IR. - In conjunction with Contractors’ Superintendents undertake a weekly HSSE inspection of allocated areas - Ensure that contractors understand and implement the HSES plan, including permit to work, toolbox talks, visible and relevant safety signs, safety surveillance, installation and maintenance of firefighting equipment, firewatchers, audible emergency warning signal, wind socks, muster areas, and emergency evacuation drills - Agree method statements, risk assessments and job safety analysis. Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with agreed method statements - Ensure all hazardous activities and those with potential risk to material or personnel, have an agreed method statement, and risk assessment prior to commencement of work - Maintain supervisory attendance at all contractor toolbox talks and safety meetings. Encourage contractor safety incentive schemes and promote all Wood processes, Client and contractors team building efforts - Ensure Contractor, Client and Operator personnel understand and fully operate the project permit to work system including tag/lock-out requirements, and that only contractor authorized personnel operate the permit to work system - Pro-actively undertake and promote the use of behavioral and incentivized HSE work programmes, and campaigns, e.g. ‘HEART’   Responsibilities: - Ensure contractors dimensional control methods for checking that all works are properly set out and satisfactory. Supervise specialist surveying contractors when necessary - Ensure all quality control checks and tests are instigated, with records maintained and available as required for concrete mix design, batching operations, concrete pour, foundation release, grouting release, area release etc., all in accordance with contractors’ agreed ITP, method statements and project specifications. Where applicable supervise the testing laboratory - Ensure effective control and design of all false-works, shuttering and form-works. Check that access roads/routes and equipment are in accordance with practical temporary works procedures and calculations. Where necessary, ensure competent technical review of temporary works design etc. - Ensure effective site speed control, with safety speed limit signs available and that there are sufficient direction signs indicating access roads/routings for planned transport of manpower and materials to workforce locations and storage areas - Ensure contractors carry out all excavations and trenching in a logical fashion, minimizing site disruption and that they provide safety barriers, signage and trench crossings in accordance with the Wood HSES plan - Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction supervisors and engineers within assigned areas. Provide daily supervisory surveillance checks and records, ensuring that contractors’ management and supervision are providing safe working conditions and permitting procedures, protective equipment, experienced/qualified supervision and manpower, with reliable, well maintained equipment to execute the contracted works as per contract schedule and targets - Routinely study, check, review and validate the discipline scope of work against the appropriate Contract Requisition to ensure the Contractors correctly interpret and comply with the latest revision AFC drawings, quantities, and specifications - Ensure proper control of changes by issuing FI’s for all changes, reviewing TQ’s to ensure responses are appropriate and practical, and reviewing ARN’s to ensure correct use of construction resources - In conjunction with other discipline superintendents ensure contractor interfaces are both coordinated and planned to allow effective take-over by follow-on contractors, and efficient access to work areas and job faces - Utilize weekly coordination meetings with other discipline superintendents to provide logical progress and target completions as per the contract schedule and daily work plan. Ensure that area/handover documentation is available, and relevant - In conjunction with other discipline superintendents ensure contractor interfaces are both coordinated and planned to provide logical progress and target completions as per the contract schedule and daily work plan - Ensure that contractors survey and accept their work areas and commence contracted works within schedule time requirements, mobilizing supervision, materials and equipment in practical logical sequences - Ensure that contractors working on site have temporary facilities, equipment and hand tools etc. that are fully capable of supporting contractors site needs in the execution of contracted works to meet schedule completions - Agree the extent and location of lay-down and workshop areas, access routes and material receipt, preservation and storage procedures with contractors’ management and supervision - Ensure practical security and protection of the works and that all contractors’ provisions for temporary lighting, transport, vehicles, plant and equipment, hand tools are in adequate supply and totally fit for purpose - Ensure that contractors are working in the required work areas, locations, elevations and sequence of work by providing discipline scheduled completion details to enable efficient planning of all activities. With the contractors planning engineers, develop detailed daily and weekly work plans to facilitate project schedule completions - Ensure supervisors/inspectors carry out the witness, inspection and surveillance checks in accordance with contractor discipline Inspection and Test Plans, and the Wood site quality plan. - Ensure contractors Quality Control checks and tests are properly recorded and are in compliance with project specifications, AFC drawings, and method statements - Ensure all approved modifications to Works are recorded on red-lined ‘as-built’ drawings, and are verified as correct by field personnel - Review and communicate to Wood staff and contractors the commissioning procedural execution and inspection criteria for all pre-commissioning activities - Review method statements for pre-commissioning and commissioning activities to ensure workforce co-ordination and integration has been considered and all the project Quality and HSE requirements have been complied with - Pro-actively assess Contractors’ against agreed schedules and milestones, and challenge/support as necessary Contractor ability to achieve required progress. Inform the Wood General Superintendent of shortfalls and anomalies. - In conjunction with each contractor, develop a schedule of tie-in, interface and terminal points - Ensure all quality control checks and tests are instigated, with records maintained and available as required for underground metallic and non-metallic checks, pre and post-test checks, hydrostatic testing, flushing and drying, safety relief valve installation etc., all in accordance with contractors’ agreed ITP, method statements and project specifications. Where applicable supervise test equipment calibration - Identify the hand over sequence on a system by system, area by area basis, all scheduled to produce logically planned work completions for commissioning and start-up requirements

Additional off the job training will be provided to give you the starter skills required to develop in your role, for example, health, safety and wellbeing, use of design and drafting software packages, CAD standards, report writing, basic surveying techniques, quality assurance and document control.    What might you do in a typical week?   As an Apprentice, you will work within project teams helping to deliver effective and professional services on a variety of water, wastewater and waste projectsfor a range of varied and high-profile clients. Typically, we see you working alongside project engineers in the development of engineering designs, who in turn will provide guidance, support and review to enable you to:   - Provide increasing technical input and supportto tasks including site surveys, analysing data, solution development and managing project tasks  - Produce engineering sketches and models using various 2D and 3D design tools including AutoCAD, Revit and Civil 3D  - Input to the preparation of high quality outputs including technical notes, reports and drawings  - Become familiar with quality assurance systems and procedures to ensure they are being followed
