- Providing advice and guidance on the application of the Quality Management System on projects to both assigned Quality Engineers and Project Management
- Assisting with the roll out and implementation of Continual Improvement initiatives
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for implementation of Quality Management System requirements as directed by the Manager, Project Quality Assurance and ensuring the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 are implemented across Home Office Engineering activities in FEED, EPC and PMC projects
- Provide advice and guidance to Project Management personnel on the application of the Quality Management System in relation to Project Execution activities
- Review QA requirements during preparation of proposals, as directed by the Manager, Quality Assurance, to assess resourcing / manpower budgets and scheduling of QA activities
- Fulfil the role of Project QA Manager when so assigned
- Preparation, implementation and maintenance of project quality plans, ensuring that all contractual quality requirements are effectively communicated and met
- Reviewing of project specific procedures and documents to verify that they comply with the contractual requirements. Monitoring of the application of these procedures to verify compliance with the contract
- Preparing a program of QA audits, focusing on the effective application of the quality management system and compliance to the project quality plan
- Reviewing all audit reports to verify that the quality management systems are implemented and are compliant with the Contract

Wood is currently looking for a Lead to manage commissioning, operations, maintenance and training (COMT) disciplines during the engineering phase of an EPCm Project in the Wood Reading office.
The position will lead a small team of up to 5 discipline engineers and report functionally to the Chief Engineer - Process Operations Support Services (POSS) and on the project to the Project Director.
The project is approximately 50% through detailed design, and will be based in the Reading office until Q1 2024, at which time the position is expected to move to the site location near Antwerp for approximately 18 months.
Sound technical knowledge coupled with leadership and decision - making skills are required to ensure the delivery of challenging project and client targets. You will be confident in your ability to deliver COMT scope for a project on time and within budget, whilst supporting other disciplines to achieve the same.
Key activities shall include:
- Lead small team (circa 5) of commissioning, operations, maintenance & training engineers
- Ensure that project execution is undertaken in compliance with corporate procedures and project schedules and that environmental and safety compliance is maintained
- Pre - commissioning systemisation and completions management
- Risk management methodologies including activity risk assessment and SIMOPS

- Coordinates with other Discipline Leads and Project Engineering Manager or Project Engineers to ensure a functional project
- Reviews drawings and documents of other Project disciplines at appropriate times to ensure that the drawings are in compliance with the requirements of the project. Conversely, ensures that discipline documents and drawings are submitted for review to other disciplines in time for them to react and feed-back comments before scheduled release dates
