In this role you will be responsible for providing a complete Cost Engineering service to both project and corporate management for Proposal and Project Operations either as part of a large project team or covering all Cost Engineering aspects on smaller projects.

What might you do in a typical week?
- Working within multi-discipline project teams helping us deliver effective and professional services
- Providing technical input to projects including organising and managing site-based investigations, analysing data and managing project tasks
- Interacting with senior electrical control and instrumentation engineers who will provide guidance and review as you:
- collate data and documentation to be used on projects
- develop design solutions using various 2D and 3D design tools, engineering sketches and drawings
- prepare electrical design deliverables including specifications, calculations, datasheets, drawings and schedules
- provide support and input to the preparation of technical notes and reports at various project stages including feasibility, concept and detailed design
- Develop detailed electrical designs and procurement documentation such as User Requirement Specifications
- undertake asset condition surveys and prepare reports and recommendations
- provide input to testing and commissioning of electrical equipment and installations including witnessing equipment acceptance tests
- provide input to resolving issues during construction
- provide input to design risk assessments

- Supporting senior engineers and project managers in client (internal or external) discussions during coordination meetings, progress updates or project reviews

A typical day for this role will consist of the following:
- Attending site visits for data acquisition and meeting site operators
- To provide technical input to the procurement process
- Produce Process Design deliverables such as: optioneering studies; process calculations, mass balance, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation drawings, sketches, basis of design reports, etc, to achieve the optimum solution for the project.
- Undertaking outline or detailed process engineering design
- Checking project calculations and deliverables
- Working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary project delivery team and to ensure integration of Process Engineering design requirements into the overall engineering design
- Working to the project programme for activities/deliverables and understanding interdependencies with other disciplines tasks
- Supporting site-based commissioning work
- Participating in regular team meetings and reviews and help to develop our process engineering group capability
- Contributing to technical/safety reviews
- Assisting colleagues and subordinates in achieving their objectives and providing feedback on team member performance to their line managers
- Support to Project Managers in technical discussions with our clients
- Discussions and liaison with technology providers and vendors
- Design sprints
- Taking a full part in HAZOP, HAZID, ENVID sessions

Wood is recruiting for a suitably qualified Contracts Advisor who is keen to develop a good understanding of contracts and progress within the contracts function.
The Contracts function focuses on all aspects of client contract negotiation and reviews including client tenders and contracts, MOUs, Bidding Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, Parent Company Guarantees, subcontract flowdowns and other agreements required to meet the business needs. The contracts team provides support to the Business Units and Business Groupings in the review of contracts and related documents, identifying and mitigating risk in accordance with the Contracting Policy and contract governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting, review and negotiation of terms and conditions of contracts with clients in the environmental and engineering consulting industry
- Ability to negotiate client contracts and MSAs under the supervision of the Contracts Manager
- Negotiation of consultancy agreements, confidentiality agreements, low risk/low value contracts with clients, industry standard form contracts (specifically NEC) and purchase orders
- Support with a large-scale novation and entity transfer process
- Assistance with the terms and conditions of/negotiation of subcontracts
- Negotiation and drafting of MOUs, bidding agreements and co-operation agreements under the supervision of the Contracts Manager
- Ability to draft and edit documents for compliance with the group-wide Contracting Policy and to follow the relevant internal contracting policies
- Interface with the Commercial, Tax, Insurance and Legal Departments and any other functions as appropriate
- Provide input to commercial handovers to the execution teams for successfully awarded contracts
- Personal safety and working within the provisions and guidelines of the overall Company HSSE & S policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with the Business Ethics Policy
- Ensure compliance with the group-wide Contracting Policy
