In addition the requirement will also include some general mechanical and piping QC Engineer duties as part of a small site QC team.   Responsibilities - Supervise the quality of Contractors welding work and carry out surveillance and inspection of welding activities - Ensure Contractors welding procedures are submitted and approved by Wood and Notified Body as required, covering all materials, which are to be welded on the project - Ensure the Contractor welding clearance resources and procedures meets the project schedule needs - Ensure that the welding works are carried out in accordance with the overall programme - Report the status of inspections and repair rates to the Quality Manager on a weekly basis and ensure that adverse or unusual trends are investigated and corrected - Review and approve all NDE and PWHT procedures - Ensure that all welding operations have quality control records properly maintained and that welding isometric packs are completed and submitted by Contractors. Wood is recruiting a Lead Design Engineer –Piping to monitor the assigned scope to ensure Wood and Contractors perform all work to agreed standards for safety, health environment and demonstrate a commitment to attaining high levels of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) performance.   Responsibilities - Participate in and advice on all design activities and initiatives, including provision of training/inductions, documentation review - Verify that all designs are to required standards and that the objectives of the project are met. Verify that the works is completed to the agreed schedule - Review Designs for O&G processing facilities and their associated infrastructure . - Cooperate with other disciplines to ensure the timely realization of competitive, achievable and serviceable solutions, including their Production Information Documentation. - Participate in the definition of system and/or module specifications. - Participate in Factory and Site testing. - Apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to make adaptations and modifications in order to solve technical problems that arise. - Contribute to and participate in formal and informal design reviews and the development of engineering changes - Execute the design process in order to realize the project, product and program plans. - Create designs that meet the specifications within the constraints given in the project plan. - Generate adequate Product Information/ Technical Product Documentation to qualify, integrate, produce and test product. - Collect and analyze information in order to report timely required information to different users and management. Provide regular status reporting to applicable management and departments in order to enable them to take required actions. - Design Experience in Rotating and Static Equipment essential. - Knowledgeable in the application of international standards to design. - Help to train and guide graduates assigned to the Project.

Wood is currently seeking to recruit Lead Piping Engineer to join the Engineering team in Kuwait.   Responsibilities - Determine the piping scope of work and input into the development of the project execution plan. - Attend kick-off, Project staff, Client, Construction, Supplier, P&ID reviews or other meetings as required. - Identify Supplier data review requirements within the discipline, including definition of distribution list. - Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract. - Be responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance. - Carry out work in accordance with AMEC and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems. - Maintain the required technical quality of work. - Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process. - Maintain planning and cost control on all scopes. - Ensure that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures. - Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned personnel as required. - Ensure, as far as practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule. - Keep up to date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline scope. - Review, prepare, check and/or approve work output of discipline assigned personnel. - Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review. - Maintain good communication with the client.
